The Kennedy Dancers, Inc. is hosting free dance workshops at the Secaucus Public Library and the Kearny Public Library.

Kennedy Dancers Free Intro To Dance Classes
The Kennedy Dancers under the direction of Artistic Director Diane Dragone,
is proud to announce that due to a generous grant from the
Community Development Block grant of Hudson County,
we are hosting Free Dance workshops in the public libraries of Secaucus and Kearny.
This program is being hosted in hopes of garnering interest about our Inner City Youth Dance Scholarship,
which was recently expanded from Jersey City to the following cities in Hudson County:
Weehawken, Secaucus, West New York, Guttenberg, Kearny, East Newark, and Harrison.

The Kennedy Dancers is now holding open enrollment
at Secaucus Library and Kearny Library for the free class and further eligibility i
nto the Inner City Youth Dance program, located at their studio on
79 Central Avenue, Jersey City NJ 07306 in the Jersey City Heights.
This will grant children in Hudson County the opportunity
for a Trial Class to explore their interest in dance and further their education in the performing arts
if they so choose.  All exceptional and eligible participants are given the opportunity
to apply to the Kennedy Dancers Inner City Youth Program Scholarship.

Kennedy Dancers Inner City Youth Scholarship
Kennedy Dancers provides afterschool scholarships for students ages 7-17 years old.
Students must meet all requirements listed in the application and enrollment process.
Scholarships can be granted for Basic Level or Pre-Professional Level.
This scholarship provides unlimited dance classes at no cost for up to two years.
Scholarship recipients will also receive a complimentary one-time StartUp Package.
This package includes: 1 pair of Ballet Shoes, 1 pair of Tap Shoes,  1 pair of Foot Protectors,
and 1 Kennedy Dancers T shirt.   For Pre-Professional skill Ballet Dancers,
1 pair of Point Shoes will be provided free of charge.

Kennedy Dancers Scholarships are based on the following criteria:
Talent, Need, and Dedication.
Scholarships are given for two levels of expertise; Basic and Pre-Professional.
Basic level is depicted as under one year or even no formal training or experience.
Pre-Professional students have 2-3 years of formal experience
and training in Ballet, Modern Dance, Theatrical Jazz or all three.

Placement of level is determined upon an evaluation by Diane Dragone.
In addition to the dancewear, the Kennedy Dancers
can provide need based transportation assistance
from areas that have limited or no public transit.

Application Requirements
All applicants MUST:
  • Complete I.C.Y. Intake Form
  • Proof of Identification (Parent and Student)
  • Proof of Residency in the following Towns/ Cities:
  • Jersey City, East Newark, Guttenberg, Harrison, Kearny, Weehawken, West New York, and Seacaucus
  • Proof of Income
Enrollment Requirements
All Accepted students MUST:
· Purchase a Dance Essentials package
($100): Kennedy Dancers Shorts, 1 pair of Tan Tights
, 1 pair of Pink Tights, 1 Dance Skirt, and 1 pair of Tan Jazz Shoes.
· Go through a scheduled dance evaluation appointmen
t to determine their skill level
